Hello there everybody, happy Wednesday! We thought a Design Concept was long overdue so here you go, something with a little sophistication for this cloudy Wednesday morning.
Classic and elegant with a twist of quirky bohemian vintage we love this board’s muted palette of barely-there blush colours, creating a concept that is quiet and retiring yet powerfully classic and elegant. We like the idea of collecting vintage style object and trinkets to use for table centers, each one being slightly different and adding to the bohemian feel of the day.

We’re kicking this week off with this light, bright and breezy design board. The inspiration for this board came from these beautiful invitations by Hello!Lucky which are appropriately called Meadow and which we’re using for a wedding later this year. I love, love, love the Meadow design because it’s manages to be modern and chic yet still perfect for a classical country wedding. In the same way, the colour palette for this board focuses on crisp whites, grass greens and a splash of delphinium blue; a fresh and simple approach to the English marquee wedding.

More than ever, I’m finding myself influenced by the weather. I’m desperate for Spring but also loving the remaining clear, crisp days of Winter. So when the heavens opened and unexpectedly deposited half of Antarctica over London, I knew it was time for a board that reflected the delicate, ethereal quality of these last few Winter weeks.

This board is all about understated elegance. I love its timeless grace and the way the ivory and Wedgwood blue are brought to life by the slightest addition of gold.
Tea in beautiful cups, opulent macaroons, the stunning Blenhiem Palace, blossom centrepieces and blousy rose bouquets. All perfect for a beautiful, dream-like, post-winter, pre-spring wedding day!

We’re in the midst of tying up all the loose ends in the office today but before we head out the door I wanted to leave you with this snow white design board which was partly inspired by this stunning wedding over at SMP. This concept is all about keeping things simple with letting the wintry surroundings speak for themselves. A pure white colour palette, lots of beautiful wooden surfaces, log fires, candlelight, marshmallows, icing sugar, cashmere blankets, ceilidh dancing, fur wraps, hot chocolate, sparklers, brandy, and a hearty wedding breakfast. The perfect festive celebration!

This board is inspired by last week’s beautiful Monique Lhuillier gowns. The soft tones of this edgy gown teamed with gorgeous coffee coloured pearls and cream merino wrap are just about perfect to me!
This board is all about keeping a neutral colour palette and playing with different textures. I love how the use of soft golds and creams give a slight vintage feel. And isn’t that picture of the library steps just amazing?

So beautiful! Love the use of plain white with varying textures. Also from a practical point of view these little beauties are simpler and therefore cheaper than cupcakes decorated with sugar flowers (beautiful as though they are).
Cannelle et Vanille via Once Wed (both fantastic reads).

At the end of last week, I was looking over my design concepts and realised that they all had very strong colour palettes and design themes. So I felt it was time for a change.
Today’s board is all about the beauty and elegance of a ‘classic’ wedding. With a much more subtle theme and palette, this board is influenced by the timeless elegance of the 1950s. The palette is all about ivories, antique golds and caramels whilst the celebration itself is wonderfully refined with warm lighting and perhaps jazz music?
As I collected photos for this board, I just knew I wanted a Vera and this a-line beauty is just the ticket. I love the understated beauty of this gown and I can imagine guests gasping with glee as the blushing bride takes her firsts steps down the aisle. And just how beautiful is that hairstyle? And the stunning calligraphy (oh how I wish I was a guest a Darcy Miller’s wedding)? I could go on…and on.
I have to admit that I find this style of wedding truly breathtaking. I know it’s popular and therefore could lack personality but I just love it’s elegant simplicity, timeless glamour and abundant romance.
